The sounds I listen to and the gigs I've been to

I'm a great lover of music and of live shows, which is why I don't much like playlists.

I usually listen to albums from start to finish, perhaps out of some reverence towards the artists. But I have to admit that without Spotify's shuffle and its auto-generated playlists I would never have found, or found again, tonnes of music that I now hold on to. I use playlists as memory boxes, somewhere to file away sounds that belong together by a logic of my own, giving them meanings the music itself certainly doesn't carry. Or more simply: I set aside the artists and the songs I like most.

An incomplete and ever-growing list of artists who keep me company day to day, and who at certain points have helped me understand myself and other people, often playing while I work and think. A personal archive of sounds, unrelated to each other but somehow related to me. In alphabetical order, so as to wrong no one (though I'd like to put them in order of importance one day).
