The more I think about it, the stranger it seems. When the dark came, the inhabitants of Earth would simply go to their rooms and lie there, senseless. Nobody would mock them for it. Nobody would trouble a person to say: you can be cured. No parent would shed tears trying to bring their children round. No child would be ashamed of fighting this illness.
Nobody would think it needed curing. On the contrary, as night fell and the stars lit the sky, everyone would wish each other a good faint. And in the morning they would ask how last night's faint had gone.
The inhabitants of that place would faint undisturbed, as though it were the most natural thing… "Sleep" is a word I have started to use. I think it is time to reach for less negative expressions.
Brother, I know how much you care for me. I live on this planet and I want to be like the others. And at the same time I don't think of my condition as anything so grave.
It is late. Now I must sleep too, like the Earth people.
I hope that one day you will be able to accept my ideas, and perhaps even wish me: sleep well.
